The nine-member board charged with overseeing Detroit's precarious finances meets for the first time today.
The Financial Advisory Board, a key ingredient of the consent agreement, will meet at 2 p.m. today at Wayne State University.
The Detroit City Council filled the final two positions on the board Thursday, when it named W. Howard Morris and Mary Beth Kuderik to the panel.
Morris is president and chief investment officer for Prairie & Tireman and former emergency manager for the Inkster Public Schools, and Kuderik is chief financial officer for the United Auto Workers' medical benefits trust.
The council also confirmed the selection of former state Treasurer Robert Bowman, who works the digital operations for Major League Baseball. Bowman, who lives in New York and has a home in Harbor Springs, was a joint pick of Gov. Rick Snyder and Mayor Dave Bing.
The other seven members were chosen weeks ago by Bing, Snyder and state Treasurer Andy Dillon.
