WDIV aired a disturbing video on Monday night that showed Inkster Police making a traffic stop, then beating on the motorist and tasering him.

Kevin Dietz reports that motorist Floyd Dent, 57, was pulled over in an area in Inkster known for drug sales after he ran a stop sign. Police claim he was fleeing, though a video showed he wasn't. A judge agreed, Dietz reports.

Then Dent was pulled out of the car. The video shows an officer put Dent in a chokehold and slugged him 16 times. Another officer is trying to cuff him. And another cop tasers him three times.

Dent said he couldn't breath and thought he was going to die. The officer who was doing the slugging said Dent bit him.

Police said Dent, who has worked for Ford 37 years, had crack cocaine in the car. Dent said the drugs were planted. There was no gun, but he was driving with a suspended license.

Dietz reports, that one of the officers involved in the incident was charged with planting evidence and falsifying reports when he worked as a Detroit cop in 2003. A jury found him not guilty.  The officer is working a desk job pending the outcome of an investigation by the Michigan State Police into the matter.

The judge dropped the charges related to the traffic stop, but Dent faces cocaine charges, Dietz reports. He has refused to plea on the case even though he was offered probation,  WDIV reports that he says. A court date is set for April 1.
