The strange death of Thad McCotter's political career

one of the most embarrassing presidential runs this side of Harold Stassen and Lyndon LaRouche and, well, seemed to give up.

For all the chatter about fraud and sabotage, what killed McCotter was the failure to do what every serious candidate in 534 other Congressional districts was able to accomplish--ballot access. For Team McCotter, that meant gathering 1000 actual signatures from actual voters.

It's something a handful of College Republicans could have accomplished in a weekend hanging out in a Wal-Mart parking lot, but McCotter couldn't be bothered to do it right.

So, there it is. You won't have McCotter to kick around anymore. That sound of silence you hear is literally no one caring. -- JTW
