Prosecutors continued today to hammer away at Kwame Kilpatrick and his alleged mispending of charitable donations.

The prosecution presented evidence showing that the ex-mayor's charity -- designed to help children and promote voter education -- spent $1,400 worth of spying equipment in 2007 to sweep Kilpatrick's office for bugs, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Authorities are alleging he illegally misused the Kilpatrick Civic Fund money that was for charitable purposes only.

Brian Lang, an employee of Spy Ops in Lathrup Village sold the equipment to the Kilpatrick Civic Fund via someone from the mayor's office, the Freep reported.
