He is keynote address at 2 p.m. Sunday in Joe Louis Arena is expected to draw up to 16,000 people, Niraj Warikoo of the Detroit Free Press reports. Tickets are available for $35 here.
The gathering today through Sunday could attract as many as 25,000 attendees. It's usually in Chicago, but also was held in Detroit in 2014.
"Detroit is the Nation of Islam's Mecca," Student Minister Troy Muhammad tells the Freep. He leads the Detroit chapter of the Nation of Islam, one of the most active in the U.S. "This is a very significant convention for the Nation of Islam, to have it in Detroit twice in three years, showing the Minister's commitment to the city of Detroit."
The event's social media hashtage, somewhat ominously, is #JusticeOrElse.
