Convicted felon and ex-mayor Kwame Kilpatrick won't be in court today, but a judge will determine how much Kilpatrick owes in restitution. 

Detroit Free Press: Kilpatrick has waived his attendance at a court hearing Tuesday that will determine his restitution, two months after he was sentenced to 28 years in prison for corruption at city hall.

The government says Kilpatrick should be ordered to pay $4.5 million to Detroit and $195,000 to the Internal Revenue Service.

Kilpatrick's attorneys would like for the restitution bill to come in under than number.

Earlier this year, Kilpatrick was sentenced to 28 years in federal prison for racketeering, corruption, and tax crimes related to what federal prosecutors called the criminal enterprise Kilpatrick operated while mayor.
