Slate blogger extraordinaire David Weigel shared a delightful anecdote today from Robert Draper's fun new book (Do Not Ask What Good We Do) chronicling the awfulness that is this 112th Congress. Apparently, Michigan Rep. John Dingell kept referring to tea party activists as "teabaggers," so an extremely embarrassed staff person explained (in frank but clinical language) that the term "teabagger" has a certain sexual connotation that may not be appropriate for polite conversation. From Draper's account, the moment sounds as awkward as one might imagine. -- JTW
