It's official. Republican National Committeewoman Terri Lynn Land wants that Senate seat being vacated next year by Carl Levin.

“Today, I started to assemble a team to win the #misen race.,” Land said Monday morning on Twitter.
“We need conservative leadership now more than ever because of high unemployment, huge deficits, and a spendthrift Congress,” Land, 54, says on her Facebook page.
“Beginning today, I am putting together a campaign strategy and a policy team. I will be filing the appropriate paperwork by July 1 to become a Republican primary candidate."
If elected in November 2014, she'd be Michigan's first Republican senator since 2000, when Debbie Stabenow unseatad Spencer Abraham after he served one term.
As of now, Land's only opponent is U.S. Rep. Gary Peters, D-West Bloomfield.
A Democrat has filled Levin's seat since he knocked off Sen. Robert Griffin in 1978. -- A.S.
