One of the problems of an understaffed Detroit Police Department is that things can get out of hand quickly and it doesn't help to call the cops.
Fox 2's Randy Wimberly reports looters trashed and stole from from a Detroit gas station early Sunday morning. Police have made no arrests and the owner says he is thinking of closing permanently.
It's hardly the first problem in recent months at Detroit gas stations, which have been the scenes of other rampages, muggings and car-jackings.
"The city ain't the same anymore," the owner told Wimbery. "The young, ignorant generation is moving business owners and the good citizens of Detroit out of the city."
The rampage was caught on camera and can be seen by clicking on the Fox 2 link at the end of this story.
"The owner, who is not identified, at his request, says his clerk told a man to leave the store and that threw the customer into a rage. He banged on the bullet proof glass, swiped nearly everything off the counter, and that's when people started running inside one by one and helping themselves to anything and everything in the store. One woman can be seen leaving and then coming back for more merchandise."
