Comedian Lewis Black has a thing or two to say about Detroit's bankruptcy filing, and he's likely share some of his thoughts on stage Saturday night at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor.

First, off, he's adamant that Detroit should get a complete bailout from  the federal government, just like other places that have fallen victim to natural disasters like New Orleans and New Jersey.

“It’s too bad Detroit wasn’t hit by a giant typhoon or had a massive earthquake or some sort of major gas-destruction fire or any other type of natural catastrophe," Black said in a telephone interview with Deadline Detroit.

"In Detroit, it's an economic tsunami, but it’s just as big a disaster. It’s absurd."

“I think in the end, people in Detroit got fucked because, why? Because they got stuck with shit leadership. Everybody made the last cocksucker a cocksucker.”

"You’re spending billions of dollars a day in Afghanistan and you can’t take care of Detroit," he said. "That’s ridiculous.”

"Where would America be without the auto industry, which basically supported the country for 70 some years?"

Black said John Bowman, a Michigan native who has long been his warm-up act, may also touch on the subject Saturday night.
