Mayor Dave Bing, appearing helpless, frustrated and politically weak over his inability to stop the city lawyer from dropping her challenge of the consent agreement, is fighting back.

The Detroit Free Press reports that Bing has turned to the big law firm of Miller Canfield to stop city attorney Krystal Crittendon's legal battle in court on Wednesday.

The city risks going broke by Friday if the city pursues it's challenge of the consent.
