There are jobs that are challenging and then there's the mayor of Detroit -- an extremely extremely challenging job.
No matter, speculation is escalating as to who might run for the coveted job that has more than its share of challenges.
The Detroit News reports that the possible candidates include Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon (pictured here), Michael Duggan and two-term state Rep. Fred Durhal Jr., D-Detroit.
State Rep. Lisa Howze of Detroit has already announced her candidacy.
Of course, some of this all may hinge on whether Mayor Dave Bing runs for re-election in 2013.
Many are assuming because of his health, age and the daunting task ahead, Bing will bow out. -- A.L.
