The Turkia Mullin situation shows signs of becoming a loop of litigation that seems endless.

Here's what one Wayne County official tells Joel Kurth of The Detroit News about the prospect of yet another legal skirmish:

"We're tired of it," said Commissioner Kevin McNamara, D-Belleville. "We have things to do. The sooner we don't hear the name 'Turkia Mullin,' the better."

He's commenting on a possible new lawsuit by the fired CEO of Detroit Metropolitan Airport, who just won $712,328 in an arbitration ruling.

Her lawyer, Raymond Sterling, told reporters Friday that "anything's possible" when questioned whether Mullin would sue Wayne County over the $200,000 severance that prompted a public outcry that led to her firing. She returned the money under pressure from her former boss, County Executive Robert Ficano, but an arbitrator ruled this week she was legally entitled to it.

"That was her money," Sterling said. . . . "We have to plot the next step."

Mullin already is suing the county because she was denied a pension and lifetime health benefits.

She spoke briefly at her attorney's office in Bloomfield Hills, Kurth writes. (WDIV video is below.)

As her two young children watched, Mullin read for three minutes from a statement, took no questions and left.

"For more than a year and a half, my life has been put on hold as my professional career has been scrutinized and attacked," Mullin said. . . . "The judge's detailed, 17-page opinion completely vindicates me."
