Wayne County Executive Warren Evans, 68, and Renata Seals McCord of Detroit quietly got married last month at a small ceremony on Detroit's east side.
“Renata and I wanted a low-key ceremony to honor our commitment to each other. This week, we had a small dinner with friends and family to celebrate," Evans says in an e-mail to Eric Lawrence of the Detroit Free Press.
The bride, 44, works at the county treasurer's office as director of outreach and community relations. She and Evans each had been married before.
Pastor Solomon Kinloch performed the ceremony Dec. 17 at Triumph Church on East Grand Boulevard.The dinner honoring the newlyweds was Thursday at downtown's London Chop House.
