Video: First Look Inside Renovated Crowne Plaza Hotel Downtown

The former Pontchartrain Hotel's year-long makeover is ready for prime time, as WXYZ shows in the video below.

It has a new owner and new name -- the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

And the year- long renovation process has been more than a cosmetic facelift.

Each of the hotel’s 367 rooms has been completely updated, including the 88 suites in the new floor plan.

Though the official debut is planned for July, the station says the first guests could check in as soon as May 30 at the hotel opposite Cobo.
