Watch A Paddle Boarding Race
The Facebook page for the stand-up paddle boarding race Saturday says it best: "No fees. No registration. No official points. No technology. Just ready, set, go. Start and finish at Belle Isle Beach. First one to circumnavigate the isle and grab the paddle/trophy keeps it for the year. Then we drink."
See details here and a video here.

Burger Brawl
Eat burgers, watch burgers being cooked, and potentially win free burgers, all while benefiting Gleaners Food Bank. The burger cooking competition takes place at Fairway Packing on Erskine Street in Eastern Market on Saturday.
See details here. Listen to the organizer talk with Jeff Wattrick here.
PierogisGo Polish For The Day
I may be a bit biased as a partial Pole, but there are few foods better than good pierogis, which are basically giant raviolis filled with delicious. Sweetest Heart of Mary near Eastern Market is hosts a Polish festival Saturday and Sunday where you can get your grub on with pierogis, city chicken, kraut, nalesniki and other traditional fare. If you miss the festival, head to Hamtramck, where Polish food joints are king.
All the info is here.
Bonus: Get vintage from Salvation Army's special collection, attend a Caribbean festival or a jazz and ribs festival or an improv festival.
