Some brand names will step up to testify in coming days in the much watched Detroit bankruptcy hearing in downtown Detroit that is getting regular coverage from not only local media but national outlets as well like the New York Times.
On Thursday, witnesses are expected to include Detroit Police Chief James Craig and a restructuring consultant, the Detroit Free Press reports. The message from them will be the same: The city is broke and can't deliver adequate services in its current state.
Other notables expected to testify include the emergency manager himself, Kevyn Orr, and Gov. Rick Snyder. Orr is scheduled to appear Friday and Snyder on Monday, Nathan Bomey of the Freep reports.
