Shinola keeps expanding its portfolio in Detroit.
Amy Haimerl of Crain's Detroit Business writes that the company is opening a 12,000-square-foot leather factory adjacent to its existing watchmaking facility inside the College for Creative Studies in Detroit's New Center area.
She reports that Paloma Vega-Perez, who helped Louis Vuitton, a luxury bag maker, with production in Barcelona and Los Angeles, will be the production manager for the new leather factory.
