Donald Trump isn't going away, at least not yet.

Todd Spangler of the Detroit Free Press writes that Trump has significantly cut into Hillary Clinton’s sizable lead in Michigan. Clinton has a 41%-34% lead over Trump in a four-way race that includes Libertarian Gary Johnson and Green Party nominee Jill Stein, according to a a poll done for the Free Press, WXYZ and their outstate partners by EPIC-MRA of Lansing.

Spangler writes that Trump "still is facing an uphill battle with voters between now and Election Day on Nov. 8 if he is to take a state that has been a key part of his strategy for winning the White House." He addse:

That 7-point edge for Clinton over Trump, a Republican businessman, casino developer and reality TV star, is down from what had been an 11-point margin earlier this month. But it still is slightly higher than the 6-point advantage President Barack Obama had over former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney -- a native of metro Detroit -- at this point in Michigan four years ago. Obama went on to win by 9 points.

The newest poll doesn't appear to have shown up yet in Nate Silver, the election guru's, FiveThirtyEight website, which gives Clinton a 49.8 percent to 42.1 percent lead over Trump. Silver uses multiple polls, and grades each one differently, depending on its methods. He has given EPIC-MRA high grades for providing quality polls.

He currently gives Clinton an 89.7 percent chance of winning the state. He gives Clinton an 85.7 percent chance of winning the election.
