In Michigan it seems as if we've become numb to municipalities and school districts going broke. Emergency managers seem to be part of the landscape.

But to see a broke school district vanish? Well, that's a whole other thing.

Enter the Inkster school district.

WDIV reports that Thursday evening, parents, teachers and administrators said goodbye to the school district as it officially dissolved. Adios. Sayonara.

Money problems forced the district to shut its doors. The roughly 2,000 student will be moved to nearby  districts in Romulus, Taylor, Wayne and Westland, the station reported.

Not to mention, teachers, counselors and custodians are out of a job. -- Allan Lengel
