Kevyn Orr
Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr lists among his accomplishment carrying out the bankruptcy without unrest in the city.
"My biggest accomplishment was keeping my word without any kind of civil strife," Orr told members of the Detroit chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists at The Detroit News and Free Press building in downtown Detroit on Tuesday, according to Christine Ferretti of The Detroit News.
Orr also said he'll always be "a little bit of a cheerleader for Detroit."
"It's still your city," he said. "Make it better."
Earlier in the day at Oakland County's annual Business Roundtable breakfast, The News reports, Orr said of the bankruptcy:
"It's time to bring it to a close. We've been doing this for over three years. Bankruptcy is a slip-and-fall practice; you slip and fall into it. From Day One, we had to think 'how are we going to get out of here?' "
He also mentioned Gov. Rick Snyder "for making the decision to take Detroit's issues on."
