Some of you people obviously didn't watch Thursday night's Tiger game because, if you had, you would've cast more All-Star votes for Jhonny Peralta.

Last night's two-run walk-off home run not only won the game, but it lifted Peralta's batting average to .329, with seven home runs and an .881 OPS (.385 OBP/.496 SLG). Yet, he's only third in All-Star balloting among shortstops, lagging behind Baltimore's J.J. Hardy (.270/.310/.470) and Texas' Elvis Andrus (.239/.293/.284).

Fortunately, Miguel Cabrera still leads all American League players with more than 3.2 million votes to start at third base for the junior circuit. He has more than double the votes as the next highest third base vote-getter.

Prince Fielder, second place among first baseman, and Torii Hunter, fourth place among outfields, are also contending to start in next month's All-Star Game at the Mets' Citi Field.

That's pretty good but, come on, Peralta deserves to start. He's having a career year at a critical position on a first-place ball club. At the very least, he should be able to outpoll a guy with a sub-.600 OPS.

Let's do this, Detroit. #voteperalta
