The sad tale of the murder of French street artist Bilal Berreni in Detroit in July 2013  continues to play out.

A defendant in the case, 21-year-old Drequone Rich, pleads guilty in Wayne County Circuit Court to second-degree murder in a deal with prosecutors that calls for a  23-40 year sentence, Oralandar Brand-Williams writes in The Detroit News

He admitted being a lookout who stopped the victim from escaping. Rich cried in court Thursday and hugged family members.

Rich, two other adults and a juvenile who was 14 years old at the time, were charged in the robbery, beating and fatal shooting. Jasin Curtis, 19, has already pleaded guilty in the case. Defendant Dionte Darryl Travis faces trial.

The News reports that Rich said he was not armed during the crime and watched the others commit the crime. He said he split the robbery money with the others.
