You guessed it was Kerry Bentivolio, right?
Occasional acting roles already were known to be part of the Republican politician's colorful work history, and now The Detroit News discloses an eyebrow-raising film role:
He was an extra, playing a North Vietnamese soldier, in the 1988 film "84 Charlie MoPic."
The film, shot in documentary style, follows a long-range reconnaissance patrol mission during the Vietnam War.
Bentivolio, who this week begins his two-year term representing parts of Oakland and Wayne counties, hastened to assure the paper his uncredited movie part a quarter-century ago "doesn't mean I'm a Communist."
