LeDuff implies that Ficano has not been honest.
One thing Fox2's Charlie LeDuff really does well is give Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano hell -- on a regular basis.
In a report entitled "Bob-liography" LeDuff mixes some old clips with new ones about the failed construction of the new Wayne County Jail.
LeDuff reports that Ficano's own staff admits there was never a real budget or blueprints for the jail, which has now been scrapped.
LeDuff reports that the oversight for the project was done by the contractors, who promised that they could build the project for under $300 million. The project soared to $391 million, 30 percent more than budgeted. It was finally scrapped. The county hopes to sell the land and recoup its losses.
In one of the video clips, LeDuff confronts Ficano about plans to close one of the county jail facilities in Hamtramck. Ficano denies he ever said that.
At that point, the video shows a photo of Ficano growing a Pinocchio nose. Classic LeDuff TV.
