Usually when news comes from the rabbit hole of Lansing, it's how state lawmakers are screwing something up. But occasionally, even in a town with so tenuous a grip on reality that a farcical and unsubstantiated rumor rumor about Rick Snyder becoming UM President is taken seriously by serious people, the politicians get something right. 

This just may be one of those times.

Detroit Free Press: A House committee will meet today in Lansing to discuss bills that would loosen restrictions on the growing craft beer industry.

One bill would let microbreweries double their output to 60,000 barrels a year without having to worry about additional restrictions. Another bill would let smaller brew pubs own interests in three more brew pubs and produce up to 18,000 barrels a year instead of 5,000 barrels.

Let us, regardless of political persuasion, agree as Americans on this point: More and better beer--especially beer that doesn't come from macrobrew cartel InBev--is always a good thing.
