When Jose Valverde came in as the closer the other day, well, it wasn't clear if it was pure luck or skill He retired the batters 1,2,3 in the ninth.
On Saturday, on beautiful, sun-drenched afternoon, he did it again, this time against the Atlanta Braves..
With the Tigers winning 7-4 in the ninth, Valverde put out the batters once again, 1,2,3. The first batter hit one out to the warning track. The next two batters struck out.
Is this all too good to be true?
