Seeing Hillary Clinton, the Democrats' leading candidate for president in 2016, won't be cheap at a suburban Detroit fund-raiser this month.
Clinton is slated to attend a reception July 21 at the Grosse Pointe home of David Katz and Jill Alper, and the cost to attend will be $2,700, David Shepardson of The Detroit News reports. He got a copy of the invitation.
The News reports that to be an "event co-host," a person must raise $27,000, which "includes host reception with Hillary and membership in Hillstarters program."
Katz is a former chief of staff to Wayne County Executive Ed McNamara, and Jill Alper was a Democratic strategist for Jennifer Granholm and for various politicians including presidential candidate John Kerry.
