
A variety of media reported this weekend that Aretha Franklin would like a shot at becoming one of the judgs on "American Idol" now that Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and superstar Jennifer Lopez announced that they were leaving the reality singing competition.

Rumors about Franklin began late Saturday when CNN and TMZ published online reports that she had e-mailed "Idol" producers expressing interest in filling one of the vacated seats on the judges' panel.
