Michigan Atty. Gen. Bill Schuette, chin-deep in the battle against same sex marriage, launched his re-election campaign Monday in his hometown of Midland, Michigan Radio reports.
Steven Carmody of Michigan Radio reports that his speech talked about his record, including campaigns to fight human trafficking and protect pensions.
The question is: Will his battle against same-sex marriage define his candidacy, or will he be able to tout his record?
Certainly, in less conservative parts of the state, he'll try to promote his record.
“A record that’s strong and clear. It’s a record of being a voice for victims," he said in his speech Monday, according to Michigan Radio. " A voice for the constitution and a voice for Michigan,” says Schuette, “It’s a long election and I’m going to win. I’m going to take my case to the citizens across the state of Michigan.”
