Hit-and-Run Driver in Detroit Kills Man in Wheelchair

Detroit Police were searching for a hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a man in a wheelchair around 4 a.m. Tuesday at West Grand Blvd. and Grand River.

WWJ reports that police were searching for a semi-truck driver.

Witness Brandon James told WWJ:

“I was at that gas station and I seen him in the street. He was in his chair, either crossing or just standing, and he got run over by the big semi and the semi kept going.”

WWJ reported that the victim was believed to be in his 30s.
