Detroit City Councilman James Tate may no longer be skeptical. But that doesn't mean other Detroiters won't think it's a pretty odd idea.

Fox2 reports that Tate will present a plan Thursday that would bring livestock to the city to eat the overgrown grass across several lots.

Fox2 reports:

Motown is no farm town, but other cities already have grazing ordinances such as Cleveland and Chicago. Tate admits he was skeptical, too, at first, but believed in the idea after a little research. The final numbers have not been configured yet, but Tate says the plan would save the city lots of money. "We are financially strapped. That's no secret. And to be able to utilize these natural lawn-mowers, as they call them, to utilize them and beat back these bushes."
