That was quick.
Andy Dillon, who just announced on Friday he was stepping down as state treasurer, is being replaced by Kevin Clinton, a former insurance company executive, who heads the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services, Paul Egan of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Dillon is stepping down after nearly three years in that post.
He had become somewhat of distraction for the Snyder administration when his personal problems surrounding his divorce surfaced in the press.
Clinton, who joined the administration of Republican Gov. Rick Snyder in 2011, was promoted to department director in March, the Freep reports. -- Allan Lengel
