Some time around his eighth or ninth building, people started joking that Dan Gilbert would buy all of downtown Detroit.

It doesn't seem so funny any more. 

A "17th downtown Detroit building is now owned by a company affiliated with Dan Gilbert," Louis Aguilar of The Detroit News reports.

The building is the 44,000-square-foot Vinton Building, at 600 Woodward Ave.

The News reports the building is now owned by  600 Webward LLC, which lists Jim Ketai as the owner. He's co-founder and managing partner of Bedrock Real Estate Service with Gilbert.
