The Michign State Police is investigating Warren Mayor Jim Fouts over allegations of threatening someone, but he told Christina Hall of the Free Press he has not violated any laws after private phone conversations he had with a mayoral appointee.

The State Police investigation is in the early stages, and Fouts has not been contacted or interviewed yet, Lt. Michael Shaw said.

“An individual came forward to Michigan State Police alleging he was threatened by the mayor,” Shaw said.
