According to a Macomb Daily Freedom of Information request, the FBI is investigating dealings between the South Macomb Disposal Authority and the folks at the Detroit Incinerator.
Specifically, they want to know what Warren assistant public services director Gus Ghanam has been up to with regards to waste management.
Macomb Daily: Documents released by the SMDA in response to a Freedom of Information request filed by The Macomb Daily show federal prosecutors asked for:
Any records regarding Detroit Renewable Energy, the firm that operates the Detroit trash incinerator where Warren disposes of its garbage, including receipts, invoices, purchase agreements, proposed contracts or internal communications
And any records regarding Ghanam including contracts, methods of payments, internal communication, emails or memos to or from Ghanam, or copied to him.
Last month, the FBI subpoenaed similar documents from the City of Warren.
