Alicia Parris did more than her assigned duties as a customer service agent at Detroit Metro Airport, federal authorities say.
The former part-time Delta employee is accused of swiping electronic flight vouchers worth $200 to $1,000 each so they could be resold at half the face value, according to a federal court filing Friday that's reported in the Free Press. Tresa Baldas has details:
She stole travel vouchers from the airline for a friend, who then sold them on the black market, according to court documents filed today.
It cost Delta Air Lines more than $52,000 in losses, the government said.
The airline passes are compensation for passengers who are bumped from flights, delayed or inconvenienced in other ways.
Parris and Michael Thomas, a friend accused of selling the digital vouchers, are charged with access device fraud and wire fraud, Baldas writes. If convicted, they each face up to 20 years in prison.
