Kid Rock, who backed Barack Obama in 2008, will play the Republican National Convention in August, Politico is reporting.
Rock is one of several rock and country acts slated to play at the Tampa convention. Others are Lynyrd Skynyrd and Trace Adkins. The website reports that other performers may include Ronnie Dunn, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Robert Randolph and Night Ranger.
Kid Rock is supporting presumptive Republican nominee and Michigan native Mitt Romney. Rock performed in February at a Royal Oak Music Theatre stop for Romney, who has been using Rock's "Born Free" as a campaign song.
