A U.S.-based Chinese investment firm has bought hundreds of acres in Milan and London townships south of Ann Arbor for a planned community of 415 upscale homes for Chinese immigrants, but the development is on hold, Crain's Detroit Business reports.
The firm, Sino Michigan Properties LLC, was seeking to encourage investors from China to open businesses here and take advantage of proximity to the University of Michigan.
Few details of the project were available, but Sino Michigan Properties officials have met with state officials and Milan city officials, and have showed the Milan officials a blueprint and pictures of a scale version of the community..
