Michigan Atty. General Bill Schuette tried flexing his muscles in a battle with a federal judge, but backed down.
The Detroit News reported that Schuette had his special agents arrest a convicted murderer as he left federal court in downtown Detroit Thursday after a judge released the man on bond. Then 15 minutes later, the man was released.
U.S. District Judge Arthur Tarnow released Dwayne Ballinger Jr., who convinced the the judge that his 2007 double murder conviction was flawed.
Schuette wasn't buying it and tried getting the judge to hold Ballinger while he exhausted his appeal. This fight apparently isn't over yet.
