Detroit is expected to offer Cincinnati Police Chief James Craig, a native Detroiter, who began his career with the Detroit Police Department, Nolan Finley of the Detroit News reports.
Craig is the consensus choice of Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr and the Police Commission, the columnist writes.
Craig said earlier he was "very carefully" weighing the anticipated offer from Detroit. Some Cincinnati City Council members have launched a petition drive to keep him, but he has indicated to the folks here that he's serious about the job.
