Charles Pugh, the disgraced former Detroit City Council president who vanished from town, could be facing some major problems.

Ross Jones of WXYZ reports that the Oakland Prosecutor's Office is reviewing a criminal complaint involving sexual allegations submitted by the Madison Heights Police Department against Pugh. They involve a 17-year-old student he mentored.

The prosecutor will determine whether criminal charges are justified.

Jones reports that Pugh allegedly gave the student "at least $200 in cash, $150 in dress clothes and a new phone that he paid to activate. Later on, the young man accused Pugh of inappropriately touching him in a Madison Heights parking lot. We were there last June when his mother confronted Pugh on the phone."

Pugh recently resigned from the city council.

After disappearing, Pugh was first spotted at a coffee shop in Seattle. Since then he's been photographed in New York. -- A.L.
