In town to break ground at Woodward and Mack, CEO Walter Robb told community activists this morning that the new Whole Foods store represents a commitment to the Midtown Detroit neighborhood.
Meeting with a Whole Foods community advisory panel prior to the 9:45 a.m. groundbreaking, Robb said Whole Foods hopes to nurture local food suppliers and to play a role in educating the community on healthy eating choices.
"I promise you we're going to be here with humility," Robb said. "We're going to need your help."
