Amariyanna Copeny's letter to the White House has convinced President Barack Obama to visit Flint on Wednesday, May 4, MLive reports.
Amariyanna, 8, has been on the front lines of the city's water crisis for months, often seen in a tiara and sash reading "Little Miss Flint" while standing at protests holding a sign or dressed in a Flint Lives Matter T-shirt at Capitol Hill in Washington, writes Roberto Acosta of MLive.
"Before we left for DC in March to the congressional hearings Mari asked to write a letter to President Obama, never in a million years did I expect that she would even get a response, let alone a call from the White House," LuLu Brezzell, Copeny's mother, told MLive.
The paper reports that the president responded to the letter, saying he'll visit Flint.
