Find Out What An Edible Hut Is

The Osborn neighborhood on Detroit's eastside created an edible hut on the abandoned Calimera Park. Yes, an edible hut. "The roof is a garden of edible perennial plants such as sage, thyme, lavender and oregano," according the website. Organizers are hosting a gathering Saturday that will include music, food, and "creative edible activities."

Celebrate Puerto Rico

Clark Park is hosting Fiesta Boricua, a Puerto Rican family festival, on Saturday. Music, the outdoors, food -- better fit it all in before summer festival season ends!

Visit The Gratiot Ave. Muralist

Deadline Detroit met New Zeland artist Askew One on Wednesday while shooting our photo essay of Gratiot Avenue. His work will be featured in a solo show at the Inner State Gallery in Eastern Market (on Gratiot Ave., naturally).

Viewings are possible all weekend, but the opening reception is Friday.

Bonus: Detroit's not the only place with renaissance flair and a big old beer fest at the Fillmore.
